Email Authentication for UHC Portal to End March 6

Our team at 1st Credentialing has been aware of this update since January and has already made the necessary adjustments internally. However, if you believe you need to update your information, please visit the UHC website and follow the provided instructions. We’ve included the link for your
convenience.

Starting Thursday, March 6, physicians will no longer be able to use their email address for recovery or multifactor authentication for the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Provider Portal. UHC sent a reminder email about this change on February 17th. This portal, which is used for important tasks such as submitting prior authorization requests, checking claim statuses, and handling reconsiderations and appeals, will soon require the following changes:

A One Healthcare ID: Physicians who currently share an ID should register for their own individual account. Access to a mobile phone, a direct landline phone number, or an available desktop authentication option.

Additionally, starting in January 2025, physicians will also be required to download a recovery code. For more details on the new access options, please refer to the UHC website.
