Standardizing Credentialing Requirements

Are you a new physician? A new office? Have you hired a new provider? You may have noticed that credentialing forms for facilities and insurance carriers all have different requirements. Gathering specific information for one application but not the others is time consuming and can lead to mistakes which can then lead to longer payment time frames. Linda Waldorf, the National Association of Medical Staff Services president, suggests that all credentialing should become standardized. She says that a set 13 standards could make provider credentialing a much smoother process for everyone, saving time and money.
